Goshun was influenced by Ōkyo Maruyama who drew objects more realistically than was the norm at that time. Goshun’s new style of painting which combined Ōkyo’s realism with the idealism of Chinese painting is today called shijō (the street where Goshun worked). This gallery includes fourteen of Goshun’s paintings of flowers and (or) birds. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
